Radiation Oncologist - Clinical Research

I graduated in 2013 as a radiotherapist-oncologist at the Catholic University of Leuven, where I followed my training as a doctor and specialist. After working as a radiotherapist for a short period at UZ Leuven and completing my PhD research in 2016 at KU Leuven with the subject ‘Optimizing radiotherapy for breast cancer patients’, I have been working in theat Maastro since March 1st 2016. in Maastricht. My expertise lies mainly in the treatment of patients with breast or lung cancer.

I attach great importance to the clinical care of patients in all its aspects. In order to offer patients the best possible treatment at his / her size, good multidisciplinary collaboration is necessary. In addition, I find scientific research indispensable to continue to strive for better treatment options with fewer side effects, which can improve the quality of life of patients.

In addition to my clinical work at Maastro, I am also a consultant at VieCuri in Venlo and at Zuyd (Sittard-Geleen) breast cancer center . I am also active in the regional working groups for breast cancer and the national platform for proton treatment for breast cancer. I am a member of the Dutch Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (NVRO) and the European Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ESTRO).
