Dr. S.T.H. (Stephanie) Peeters

Radiation Oncologist - Clinical Research

After my studies in medicine at the Catholic University of Leuven in Belgium, I started training as a radiotherapist-oncologist at the University Hospital (UZ) of Leuven in 2002. From 2003 to 2005 I worked at the Netherlands Cancer Institute in Amsterdam on my PhD research on high dose irradiation in prostate cancer. After finishing my training as a radiotherapist in 2009, I worked as a staff member at UZ Leuven. Since January 1, 2017 I work in Maastro in Maastricht. My areas of focus are the treatment of lung and breast cancer. In addition to the clinical work, I am actively involved in the Maastro Proton Therapy project in Maastricht. Radiotherapist is a fascinating profession with on the one hand a technical side with always new evolutions, and on the other hand a very human side. I attach great importance to good patient supervision and hope to contribute to the difficult process that patients go through. In addition to clinical work, my attention and interest also go to applied clinical scientific research where the goal is to continuously improve treatment for patients.

I am a member of the Dutch Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (NVRO), and the European Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ESTRO).
