My background started with the integrated Master’s in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Minho, Portugal. During this time, I started to pave a path oriented to the field of medical informatics. This led me to complete the studies with a thesis on the topic of understanding REM sleep with the application of unsupervised learning techniques. Following this period, I worked as a software engineer for a few years on some diverse projects.
In 2021, I joined Maastricht University and Maastro as a PhD student focusing on federated learning, data harmonization, and machine learning. These fields show a great potential to unveil new knowledge that can be enhanced with the efforts for better data collaboration. I’m enthusiastic about these possibilities and how they can contribute to improving healthcare.
I value team and collaborative work, open-mindedness, honesty, and ingenuity.
