Teun van Wagenberg (Tilburg, the Netherlands) obtained his MSc degree in Medical Engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology. While studying for his master’s degree he specialized in medical imaging and image analysis, and became interested in radiotherapy. His did his master thesis research in 2019 in the Physics Reseach group at Maastro, studying the application of Dual-Energy CT for proton therapy dose calculations. After his graduation in 2020, he started as a PhD at Maastricht University/Maastro in the same group, working on the development of IrIS (Iridium Imaging System). This innovative system should provide real time dosimetry for brachytherapy with the help of an imaging panel.
