Dr. I. (Ilaria) Rinaldi

Klinisch Fysicus

I am a medical physicist at MAASTRO clinic since April 2018.

I obtained my master degree in medical physics in 2007 from the University of Turin (Italy). During my PhD (2008-2011) at the University of Heidelberg (Germany), I worked on novel imaging techniques in ion beam therapy for future application at Heidelberg Ion Therapy (HIT) center.

As post-doctorate at Heidelberg University Clinic/HIT, I continued working on imaging and Monte Carlo simulations in ion beam therapy. I also performed clinical work in the Heidelberg University Clinic in the Department of Radiation Therapy and Radiation Oncology and at HIT. I became “Certified Medical Physicist” in January 2014. Between February and September 2014, I was a research fellow at the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and Harvard Medical School in Boston (USA). Since 2015 I was a permanent full-time researcher at the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) in Lyon (France).

My interests cover methods and technologies for imaging techniques for treatment planning and in-situ monitoring, Monte Carlo simulation, biological modelling especially in ion beam therapy.
