I studied Biomedical Sciences at Maastricht University and specialized during my second year of master in the field of developmental biology and oncology. Since three years I am working as a PhD student at the Radiotherapy department at Maastricht University. Performing fundamental oncology research is a real pleasure for me. Obtaining new knowledge and elucidating every day a little bit more how the human body works, what goes wrong during tumor development and how we can use this in developing (new) therapeutics makes working in this field encouraging. I value curiosity, humor and creativity. Areas of expertise: Signaling, activation and intracellular trafficking of the NOTCH1 receptor in normal and oncogenic tissues.
